What is Vocational Service?
Vocational Service is one of Rotary's five avenues of service. It encourages members to be of service through their vocation, pursue high ethical standards, and share their skills with those who need them.
Every Rotarian brings a profession and that profession is an instrument of service. Whether you are a doctor, engineer, lawyer, teacher, or entrepreneur, your expertise is among the most powerful contributions you can make to your community and the world.
The 4-Way Test
Developed by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor in 1932, the 4-Way Test is the ethical guide used by Rotarians worldwide.
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and better FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Herbert J. Taylor, a Rotarian and businessman, created the 4-Way Test as a guide for ethical business practice. It was adopted by Rotary International in 1943.
